Bangkok: Attention online sellers, three major private shipping companies, KEX, Flash Express, and J and T Express, are set to increase their service fees by 3 baht per item starting April 1, 2026. This decision comes as a response to escalating fuel costs, impacting the transportation sector.
According to Thai News Agency, KEX has attributed the price adjustment to the ongoing volatility and rise in fuel prices, which have significantly increased transportation expenses. In an effort to maintain service standards, KEX will impose an additional fuel surcharge of 3 baht per item. The company has acknowledged the potential impact on its customers' business operations and expenses, and it has assured that if oil prices stabilize, it will consider reducing or eliminating certain surcharges as deemed appropriate.
Flash Express has stated its long-standing effort to manage costs and avoid price hikes. However, the persistent increase in fuel prices has necessitated this adjustment. The company emphasized that the rate increase is temporary and stems from an industry-wide consensus, involving consultations with relevant agencies to ensure fairness. Flash Express is committed to reviewing and potentially reducing service rates once fuel prices show improvement.
J and T Express has echoed similar sentiments, explaining that the price adjustment is essential to manage rising operating costs while maintaining its promise of high-quality service. The company is committed to addressing the challenges posed by increased expenses while continuing to serve its customers effectively.
