Pattaya: "Pro Jin" achieved her first LPGA Tour title victory on home soil, marking a historic win as the third Thai woman to claim the Honda LPGA Thailand Championship. According to Thai News Agency, the tournament took place at the Siam Country Club Old Course in Pattaya, Chonburi province, with a prize pool of approximately 60 million baht. The competition concluded dramatically with world number one Atthaya Thitikul initially leading at 20 under par. She faced a strong challenge from Japan's Chissi Iwai, who played in a different group. They both reached 23 under par before Atthaya took the lead at 24 under par with a birdie putt on hole 17. Iwai missed her chance to equalize on the final hole, allowing Atthaya a narrow one-stroke lead. In a tense finish, Pro Jin managed a three-on before saving par with two putts on the final hole, ending her round with six birdies and two bogeys, culminating in a total score of 24 under par. This victory placed her one stroke ahead of Chissi Iwai and secured her inau gural LPGA Tour win. Pro Jin joined the ranks of Ariya Jutanugarn (2021) and Papangkorn Dhavadhanakit (2024) as a champion of this prestigious event. She earned US$270,000, equivalent to roughly 8.4 million baht. Following her victory, Pro Jin expressed immense satisfaction in achieving this milestone in Thailand. She shared her aspirations of securing her first major championship this year and expressed gratitude to Thai sports fans for their support. She also acknowledged the contribution of her caddy, Pro Kong, and was thrilled to have her family present to witness her triumph. Other Thai golfers also participated in the tournament with notable performances. Ariya Jutanugarn, the 2021 champion, finished tied for 8th at 18 under par. Pajaree Anannarukan and Chanettee Wannasan tied for 18th at 13 under par, while Chanoknan Angkurasreni ended tied for 24th at 12 under par. Pornanong Phetlump concluded her rounds tied for 42nd at 7 under par, Prim Prachnakorn tied for 65th at 6 over par, and Moriya Jutanugar n finished last at 16 over par.
