Pathum thani: The "Queen's Cup 2026" golf tournament has commenced, with Thai professional golfers vying for the prestigious royal trophy. The Professional Golf Association of Thailand is hosting the prominent "Queen's Cup Thailand Championship 2026," a major event that features a Royal Trophy bestowed by Her Majesty Queen Sutida Bajrasudhabimalalakshana and a total prize pool of 15 million baht. Scheduled to take place from July 2-5, 2026, the tournament is being held at Riverdale Golf Club in Pathum Thani Province.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Pongrat Leuangthamrongcharoen, President of the Professional Golf Association of Thailand, expressed the significance of the event for Thai golf. He acknowledged the royal patronage of the Queen's trophy, emphasizing that it is an honor that motivates Thai golfers to excel. The dream of all Thai golfers is to win and hold this prestigious trophy at least once in their careers.
Mr. Kasemsuk Jongmanukong, CEO of Golf Business at MBK Public Company Limited, expressed gratitude to the Professional Golf Association of Thailand for selecting Riverdale Golf Club as the tournament venue. He assured that thorough preparations have been made to ensure the tournament's success, highlighting the challenges and safety measures in place. The tournament's highlight is 'Hole 8,' featuring the 'Top Green' with large bunkers, alongside comprehensive facilities provided in collaboration with The Nine Center Tiwanon shopping mall and a Media Center at Bangkok Golf Club for media representatives.
The Queen's Cup Thailand Championship 2026 not only holds prestigious value but also offers the largest prize pool in the history of professional golf in Thailand, totaling 15 million baht. The champion will receive 2.1 million baht and the Royal Trophy bestowed by Her Majesty Queen Sirikit. The competition is set to attract top-tier golfers, including renowned professionals such as Prayad Marksaeng, Thaworn Wiratchant, and others, along with promising amateur golfers like Parin Sarasamut, Ratchanon Chantanawat, and Settavut Kenanan.
