Raided Gambling Den in Korat Leads to Arrest of 85 Gamblers and Seizure of 1 Million Baht

Korat: A gambling den operating from a motel in downtown Korat was raided, resulting in the arrest of 85 gamblers and the seizure of over 1 million baht in cash. A special operations unit from the Department of Provincial Administration conducted the raid on a large gambling den located in a motel in the heart of Korat city.

According to Thai News Agency, the raid occurred at 8:05 PM on January 13th in a motel on Mittraphap Road in Mueang Nakhon Ratchasima District, Nakhon Ratchasima Province. The motel had been converted into a large-scale gambling operation featuring games such as dice and dragon tiger. Authorities apprehended 85 gamblers, comprising both men and women, and confiscated over 1 million baht in cash along with numerous gambling devices.

This gambling den has been notorious in the Mueang Nakhon Ratchasima district and has been the subject of numerous complaints from local residents but had never been seriously raided before. In 2020, it gained notoriety when Mr. Mongkolkitt Suksintharanon posted a video exposing gambling activities at the location, which became a major news story.

Following the arrests, Mr. Ballang Waithasiri, Deputy Governor of Nakhon Ratchasima Province, Pol. Maj. Gen. Narongsak Phromtha, Commander of the Nakhon Ratchasima Provincial Police, and police officers from Pho Klang Police Station arrived at the scene to take further action.
