According to Thai News Agency, Associate Professor Dr. Kosit Sripuhtorn, President of Rajamangala University of Technology Isan (RMUTI), revealed that RMUTI is ready to open the new academic semester on June 15th under the vision of "Learning here is filled with happiness." The university is committed to building 100% confidence among parents through upgraded student care measures, coupled with a systematic approach to adapting freshman orientation activities to be more creative and safe.
Rajamangala University of Technology Isan (RMUTI) has announced the establishment of the "Center for Preventing and Suppressing Violent Freshman Welcome Activities and Cheerleading Meetings" to oversee and deal with behaviors or activities that constitute violence decisively. The university reaffirms its commitment to ending violent freshman hazing culture and promoting activities that foster unity and mutual support.
'The university reaffirms its stance that all activities must be constructive, respectful of rights and freedoms, and absolutely non-violent. We do not mandate student participation in any activities; everything is voluntary. If any student is found to violate these rules, plan, or support undesirable activities, the university is prepared to consider strict disciplinary action to ensure parents can be confident that their children will be safe and happy throughout their time at the university,' Assoc. Prof. Dr. Khosit said.
To create a positive image for freshman orientation, Rajamangala University of Technology Isan (RMUTI) is preparing the "First Step to RMUTI" project on June 27, 2026. This official welcoming event for new students will feature highlights such as passing through a cassia arch and the Bai Sri Su Kwan ceremony, which continues the beautiful tradition of conveying love and goodwill from faculty and senior students to freshmen, ensuring a memorable start to university life.
Associate Professor Sorawit T. Siriwatana, Vice President for Student Affairs and Alumni Relations, stated that the university has joined forces with administrators and deputy deans for student development from all faculties to establish a prevention center as the main mechanism for monitoring. They have also launched the "Senior and Teacher Care for Junior" project, deploying teams of faculty and senior students to provide support to new students in their dormitories, as well as organizing patrols in collaboration with community leaders surrounding the university to create a proactive safety network.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Khosit emphasized at the end that these measures cover all campuses of Rajamangala University of Technology Isan, including Nakhon Ratchasima, Khon Kaen, Surin, and Sakon Nakhon. All student activities will be closely supervised by faculty members to create a safe and happy learning environment, which is a crucial foundation for producing quality graduates ready to proudly serve society.
