Rangsiman Questions Intentions Behind NACC’s Grouping of Former Move Forward Party MPs

Bangkok: “Rangsiman” has raised concerns over whether it was intentional after the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) grouped 44 former Move Forward Party MPs. These MPs are facing potential political repercussions due to a case involving proposals to amend Section 112 during a censure debate. Rangsiman expressed that while it is acceptable to dislike the opposition, the weakening of their position does not benefit the country. He emphasized his commitment to doing his best despite these challenges.

According to Thai News Agency, Rangsiman Rome, who serves as an MP for the party list and deputy leader of the Prachachon Party, commented on the NACC’s actions. The commission reportedly divided the former MPs, who had signed a petition to amend Section 112, into four groups. At least 12 individuals are at risk of losing their political rights. Rangsiman questioned the intentions behind this organization, noting that Prachachon Party MPs are currently fulfilling their roles as inspectors. She expressed uncertainty about whether the move was deliberate but suggested that it distracts MPs from their oversight duties. She argued that the country gains nothing from such actions, emphasizing the importance of focusing on the people’s work and condemning the use of legal and procedural tactics.

Rangsiman further explained that while the legislative branch has the right to propose law amendments, ethical blame games overshadow larger issues such as collusion and case clearance. These, he argued, are significant concerns that impact societal morality but remain unaddressed.

He continued, stating, “Actions against the People’s Party and the Orange Party seem expedited, with hopes of revoking political rights for life. Disliking or criticizing us is fine, but what do we gain from this approach? It perpetuates a cycle where Thailand gains nothing and conflicts persist. Weakening the opposition results in loss, not progress. Corruption will rise. We are committed to working diligently despite the challenges. We assure the public that we will fulfill our responsibilities to the best of our abilities,” Rangsiman concluded.
