Bangkok: The entertainment industry is mourning the loss of Kru Manas Pitisan, a National Artist in Performing Arts for the year 2012, who passed away at the age of 97. Kru Manas suffered a temporary cardiac arrest on December 19, 2015, and despite being successfully revived by doctors at Sinpattaya Srinakarin Hospital in Bangkok, he passed away peacefully at 4:16 AM on December 20, 2015.

According to Thai News Agency, Kru Manas Pitisan was a prominent Thai musician and composer, born on July 1, 1928, in Bang Bua Thong District, Nonthaburi Province. He was recognized as a National Artist in the Performing Arts, specifically in Thai and Western Music, in 2012. His musical journey began under the tutelage of Phra Chenduriyang at the Royal Thai Air Force Band, where he served as a musician from 1943 until his retirement.

Kru Manas Pitisan’s legacy includes collaborations with esteemed musicians such as Sanga Aramphir and Preecha Maitreya. His notable compositions include the 1964 classic “Saneha,” famously sung by Suthep Wongkamhaeng, and “Muean Khon La Fak Fa” from 1960, for which he wrote the lyrics. He also composed numerous theme songs for television dramas such as “Phiphop Majjurach,” “Krasue,” “Hun Lai Ka,” “Amritalai,” and “Pob Phi Fa.”

Throughout his career, Kru Manas was honored with several awards and certificates, including the 1st Royal Golden Record Award for Best Male Singer for his song “Muean Khon La Fak Fa.” His contributions to the music industry have left an indelible mark and will be remembered for generations to come.
