Rivalry Leads to Stabbing After Eye Contact Incident

Bangkok: Simply making eye contact led to two youths being chased and stabbed by rivals. Two youths were stabbed and injured after simply making a face at each other by rivals who chased and stabbed them on a motorcycle. They then turned around and sought help. Authorities are reviewing CCTV footage to trace the escape route and apprehend the perpetrators.

According to Thai News Agency, CCTV footage from in front of a plant shop near the scene of the incident captured part of the event. The victim and his friend parked their motorcycle in front of the shop after being stabbed by rivals. After parking, the victim and his friend took over driving before circling back to seek help. Following the incident, police from Bang Pu Police Station and volunteers from the Ruam Katanyu Foundation inspected the scene at the bus stop in front of a barbecue restaurant on Phraeksa Road, Phraeksa Subdistrict, Mueang District, Samut Prakan Province. They found a 14-year-old boy, identified as B, a student from a well-known area in Samut Prakan, injured, shirtless, with severe stab wounds under his right arm. Blood was staining the sidewalk and the motorcycle. Rescue workers provided first aid before urgently transporting him to the hospital.

A 15-year-old boy, identified as "Boy A," who was riding pillion with the injured person, provided information stating that while they were on their way to meet another friend, they encountered a group of two people from the opposing side near the industrial estate entrance. The opposing group stared at them before following them. Upon reaching the scene of the incident, the person on the back of the opposing group stabbed his friend. Boy A himself was uninjured. After the incident, he drove around to seek help, and a good Samaritan called an ambulance. He confirmed that he had never met, seen, or had any problems with the opposing group before, and speculated that the opposing group might be teenagers who had dropped out of school.

Initially, Bang Pu Police Station has not ruled out any possibilities and is urgently reviewing CCTV footage along various routes to determine the facts regarding the cause, which is suspected to have stemmed from simply looking at each other. They are also coordinating with the investigative team to examine CCTV footage along the escape route of the perpetrators in order to track down the young man who did the stabbing and bring him to justice.
