Bangkok: His Majesty the King and Her Majesty the Queen attended a royal ceremony in honor of His Majesty the King's 28th birthday. The event, held at the Grand Palace, was marked by several ceremonial acts and charitable gestures, celebrating the occasion with the presence of the royal family and distinguished guests.

According to Thai News Agency, the royal couple was accompanied by prominent members of the royal family, including Her Royal Highness Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya and His Royal Highness Prince Dipangkorn Rasmijoti Mahavajirotthamangkul Siri Vibulyarajakumara. The ceremony commenced with the King bestowing monetary gifts upon royal astrologers, followed by traditional rituals of lighting incense and candles to honor the guardian deity of Siam and other revered figures.

The ceremony featured the lighting of incense and candles at altars dedicated to Buddha images and celestial deities. His Majesty led these rituals, signifying respect and reverence, with royal family members in attendance. This was followed by a gathering of 80 monks who offered their blessings through chants and prayers.

The event also included acts of charity, with His Majesty and the royal family presenting food offerings to the monks. The King further demonstrated generosity by instructing Prince Chalermsuk Yukhon to release fish at Ratchaworadit Pier, symbolizing a gesture of goodwill and compassion.

The ceremony concluded with a sermon by Phra Thep Yana Wachirachinopas and further offerings to the Supreme Patriarch and other senior monks. His Majesty's actions throughout the ceremony reflected a commitment to tradition and benevolence, honoring both his birthday and his esteemed role within the nation.
