Bangkok: The Royal Thai Army held a religious ceremony to commemorate the 100th day since the passing of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother. General Chisanupong Rodsiri, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Thai Army, presided over the ceremony, which was attended by senior commanders, officers, and personnel of the Royal Thai Army.
According to Thai News Agency, the Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Thai Army led a delegation of commanders and personnel to pay respects before the portrait of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother, in gratitude for her immeasurable royal benevolence. A merit-making ceremony was also held, with 93 monks from Wat Phong Phloy Wittaya receiving alms at the plaza in front of the monument of King Chulalongkorn (Rama V), as a tribute to Her Majesty.
Subsequently, the commanding officers and personnel entered room 221 to participate in a Buddhist chanting ceremony led by monks from Wat Bowonniwet Rajavaravihara. They offered food and other offerings to the monks and performed the ritual of offering robes to the monks as a merit-making act dedicated to Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother, in accordance with valuable royal tradition.
