Lop buri: The Royal Thai Army has conducted tests on the research results of a prototype unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) and supporting equipment, marking a significant step in the development of modern military capabilities. General Manas Chandi, Chief of Staff of the Royal Thai Armed Forces, led the initiative at the Khao Phulon military training area.
According to Thai News Agency, the tests were a collaborative effort involving the Royal Thai Navy Research and Development Office, the Royal Thai Air Force Aerospace Science and Technology Development Center, the Rajamanu Task Force, private companies, and leading universities. This collaboration aimed to enhance the tactical capabilities of unmanned systems.
The testing focused on tactical unmanned aerial vehicles, including attack drones known as Kamikaze Drones, and bomb-dropping UAVs. The trials also included evaluations of concrete bunkers designed to support national defense missions, which are crucial for enhancing strategic defense capabilities.
The primary objective of these tests is to assess the tactical UAVs’ capabilities, promote technological cooperation among the Royal Thai Army, private sector, and educational institutions, and facilitate knowledge exchange. This initiative aims to advance military technology, foster sustainability in the national defense industry, reduce dependency on foreign technology, and ensure continuous modernization of national security.
