Bangkok: The Royal Thai Navy has confirmed that checkpoints are closed along the entire route, ensuring a transparent and verifiable process at any time. In an effort to quell rumors of border crossing closures, the Navy broadcasted live from three locations, affirming strict border control and inviting the public to verify the facts. They confirmed that all border crossings are closed, and the situation is transparent and verifiable at any time.
According to Thai News Agency, Rear Admiral Parach Rattanachaiyapan, spokesperson for the Royal Thai Navy, addressed false information circulating on some social media pages claiming that the Navy has opened border travel and goods transportation in Chanthaburi and Trat provinces. The Royal Thai Navy confirms that this information is inaccurate and has taken steps to ensure the public receives verifiable information. To demonstrate that border crossings remain under strict control measures, the Royal Thai Navy broadcasted live footage from all three permanent border checkpoints under its responsibility: Ban Phak Krad border crossing in Pong Nam Ron District, Chanthaburi Province, and Ban Hat Lek border crossing in Khlong Yai District, Trat Province. This footage was streamed via the Facebook page "Royal Thai Navy Spokesperson."
The Navy spokesperson reiterated that the Navy is strictly implementing border control measures in accordance with the government's security policy. Entry and exit to the area will only be permitted in cases that are legally justified, for security measures, or necessary humanitarian reasons. All cases are under close supervision and monitoring by officials; it is not an open passage for the general public as some online pages have claimed.
Throughout the past period, the Royal Thai Navy, through the Chanthaburi and Trat Border Protection Command, has continued to implement patrol, surveillance, and interception measures against illegal border crossings. This has led to the arrest of numerous lawbreakers, including illegal immigrants, human trafficking rings, and transnational criminal networks. This reflects the continued seriousness and effectiveness of border control. The Royal Thai Navy affirms its commitment to upholding national sovereignty, security, and enforcing border laws with transparency, integrity, and public scrutiny at all times.
