Royal Thai Police Report Significant Success in Crime Suppression Over Six Months

Bangkok: The police spokesperson team announced the results of a six-month operation, cracking down on all forms of crime and enhancing the welfare of police officers.

According to Thai News Agency, Pol. Lt. Gen. Archayon Kraithong, spokesman for the Royal Thai Police, highlighted the achievements of the operations conducted from October 1, 2024, to March 31, 2025. The operations aimed at suppressing various crimes and improving welfare for police officers and their families, resulting in over 309,000 cases and the arrest of more than 330,000 suspects across four main crime categories.

In the area of drug suppression, authorities arrested over 123,000 suspects and seized more than 510 million methamphetamine pills, along with assets valued at over 4.9 billion baht. The crackdown extended to border areas to curb drug trafficking. Regarding technology-related crimes and call center scams, police apprehended more than 22,000 offenders. Collaborative efforts with Cambodian authorities facilitated the repatriation of 175 Thai suspects linked to transnational crime organizations. Additionally, the police addressed human trafficking, illegal arms, informal lending, and criminal influences in various regions. A special operations center, Special Operations Center 88, was established to monitor border areas with the assistance of neighboring countries.

The Royal Thai Police expedited the resolution of significant cases, including the Icon Group case, the diamond store case, and the case involving Dr. Boon Vanasin, with ongoing coordination with the International Police.

In terms of welfare, the police supported projects like lunch programs, accommodation, and financial planning training, along with promoting activities to aid the development of children and youths in police families.

Pol. Lt. Gen. Achayon stressed the importance of police officers performing their duties with dedication and seriousness, particularly in addressing crimes affecting the public. He expressed gratitude to all parties involved in advancing the work efficiently.
