The boat service on the Saen Saeb canal was suspended this morning (Jan 10) as the water level rose very high following hours of rainfall in Bangkok.
The Family Transport (2002) Co, the operator of Saen Saeb boat service said it has to suspend the boat service along the 18-kilometre route from Was Sri Bunruang pier to Pratunam and Phan Fah Leelart pier from 9.30 am as the water level rose to unusually high.
The rising water level could pose danger to boats passing underneath bridges across the canal.
The boat operator expected the service could be resumed in the afternoon when the water level recedes.
The company has over 100 boats of 40-50 seats on service. It operates from 5.30am to 8.30pm daily on weekdays and from 5.30am to 7pm on weekends. Prices are 8-20 baht, depending on distance traveled. The service carries about 60,000 passengers per day.
