Santi Collaborates with Online Platforms to Enhance “Half-Half Plus” Program Monitoring

Bangkok: Santi Piyatat, Minister of the Prime Minister’s Office, has announced collaborative efforts with online platforms to strengthen the “Half-Half Plus” program by utilizing artificial intelligence to detect the sale of e-cigarettes and other illegal products. The initiative aims to ensure greater control and monitoring of online transactions, particularly concerning price inflation and the sale of prohibited items.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Santi emphasized the importance of using AI systems to identify and address irregularities, including monitoring stores that increase prices online or in food delivery services. The government has directed that any detected irregularities be shut down immediately to safeguard consumer interests.

In support of these efforts, the government has launched 10 additional hotlines at number 1166 to address complaints related to online purchases under the “Half-Half Plus” program. Furthermore, service providers participating in the program are mandated to report their performance to the Ministry of Finance. This step is part of a broader initiative to protect consumer rights and enforce fair price control measures.
