Bangkok: Satun Province is in a serious crisis with flooding in all 7 districts. The latest announcement is that the entire province has been declared a disaster zone, while officials from all units are rushing to help evacuate villagers.
According to Thai News Agency, Satun Province is facing unprecedented flooding, affecting all seven districts and submerging the city. The province has been officially designated as a disaster zone, prompting a swift response from officials who are working tirelessly to evacuate residents. In Khuan Kalong District, for instance, Ban Nuea Khlong, Village No. 8, is home to four children, two adults, and a bedridden patient who are currently trapped by the rising waters. The situation is dire, with currents so strong that rescuers are resorting to using ropes to secure and aid in the rescue efforts.
The most severely affected areas are Khuan Kalong and La-ngu Districts, where many villagers remain trapped. As the floodwaters from Muang District begin to spread into surrounding areas such as Ban Khuan Subdistrict, Khlong Khut Subdistrict, and Khuan Khan Subdistrict, predictions indicate that the inner regions of Muang District will likely be inundated within two hours.
