Bangkok: The search continues for two missing Russian siblings in Chonburi province under suspicious circumstances, as their stolen motorcycle was unearthed from a clandestine burial site.
According to Thai News Agency, the siblings, a 22-year-old male and a 17-year-old female, disappeared along with their Honda ADV 150 motorcycle in the early hours of July 26th. A group of over 20 Russians living in Pattaya initiated a search, focusing on the parallel road of the Map Ta Phut motorway near Wat Yang Yai in Bang Lamung district, after locals reported observing what they believed to be bloodstains and unusual motorcycle skid marks. Unfortunately, their efforts were fruitless, and the group eventually dispersed.
Pol. Col. Warawut Nityawan, superintendent of Huai Yai Police Station, has stated that police are engaged in a comprehensive investigation to locate the missing siblings. The police are urging the public to provide any information that could assist in their efforts. They are also investigating a tip-off about the motorcycle being linked to a suspicious individual, as indicated in an audio clip that is currently being verified.
The situation took a significant turn when the village headman, local leaders, and community representatives discovered four suspicious men with digging tools in the forested area of Village 9, Huai Yai Subdistrict. The men fled upon the officers' arrival, leaving behind a freshly filled-in hole. Upon excavation, authorities found the siblings' disassembled and buried Honda ADV 150 motorcycle.
The ongoing investigation has confirmed that the motorcycle is indeed the one that went missing with the siblings. A detailed search of the vicinity is underway to uncover more evidence and locate the missing individuals, especially since the site is near the residence of "Mr. Pong," a suspect captured in footage.
Mr. Chakrakrit Boonmak, an assistant village headman, initially suspected a possible burial site and alerted the village headman, retreating out of concern that the group might be armed. The police were subsequently contacted, but by the time they returned with officers, the men had disappeared, leaving behind the burial site where the motorcycle was found. The search for the missing siblings continues as authorities intensify their efforts.
