Bangkok: The Secretary-General of the National Security Council has stated that he is unaware of any plans by Hun Manet to negotiate the return of territories following the Songkran festival.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Chatchai Bangchawad, the Secretary-General, addressed Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet's recent Facebook post, which mentioned an intention to open negotiations with Thailand concerning territorial returns. Mr. Chatchai noted that he had not received any reports regarding this matter.

In a recent National Security Council meeting, Mr. Chatchai mentioned that specific details concerning the Thai-Cambodian border were not discussed, and the council's actions continue to adhere to the principles outlined in the Joint Statement. He indicated that further investigation would be necessary to clarify any additional related concerns.

Addressing the situation in the Middle East, Mr. Chatchai emphasized that the council's priority is assisting stranded Thai citizens, particularly those in Iran, and that efforts are aligned with the NSC's resolutions based on voluntary actions. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is actively involved in the care and repatriation of Thai nationals from conflict zones.

Concerning tourists from various nationalities in Thailand who may engage in symbolic protests related to conflicts, Mr. Chatchai confirmed that the National Security Council has tasked the police with monitoring such activities. The monitoring includes overseeing activities at embassies of nations involved in ongoing conflicts. As of now, there is no significant information indicating any cause for concern.
