Phetchaburi: Sek Suksapimai, widely known as Sek Loso, is eligible for parole and has been transferred to Khao Kling Temporary Prison in Phetchaburi province in preparation for his release. The Department of Corrections announced that Sek, who is serving a sentence of 2 years, 12 months, and 20 days for resisting arrest, drug use, and illegal possession of firearms and ammunition, qualifies for the pre-release preparation program for general parole.
According to Thai News Agency, Sek Loso must participate in various programs at Khao Kling Temporary Prison, an open correctional facility that provides vocational training and serves as a pre-release preparation center. Upon completing the preparation program, Sek will be considered for general parole.
Located in Kaeng Krachan District, Phetchaburi Province, Khao Kling Temporary Prison spans 580 rai (approximately 232 acres) and serves as a vocational training center for inmates. The facility integrates the philosophy of Sufficiency Economy into its training to equip inmates with skills for future employment. It also functions as a tourist attraction, featuring earthen houses, beautiful animals, a coffee shop, and Sufficiency Economy learning centers. Visitors can learn about vegetable and herb cultivation, animal husbandry, and various production techniques. The prison also offers vocational training in specific skills like charcoal kiln construction and mud brick making.
The prison has implemented the "Khao Nong Na" project, a royal initiative providing inmates with agricultural opportunities based on the Sufficiency Economy and the New Theory of Agriculture. This initiative aims to prepare inmates for successful reintegration into society after their release.
