Senate Approves Appointment of Nine Supreme Administrative Court Judges

Bangkok: The Senate, by a majority vote, has approved the appointment of nine judges to the Supreme Administrative Court. All nominees were successfully confirmed during the Senate meeting, which dedicated time to consider each individual's qualifications for the positions.

According to Thai News Agency, the nominees received varying levels of support from the attending Senators. Mr. Panumas Liamsakul, currently the Chief Judge of the Administrative Court of First Instance at the Supreme Administrative Court, garnered 154 votes in favor, with 1 vote against and 26 abstentions. Similarly, Mr. Trahngan Kiattisirichon, Chief Justice of the Central Administrative Court, received 151 votes in favor and saw 31 abstentions.

Mr. Wutthichai Saengsamran, Chief Judge of the Administrative Court of Suphan Buri, was approved with 147 votes in favor and 31 abstentions. Mr. Yanyong Thanyaphipong, serving as the Chief Justice of the Khon Kaen Administrative Court, received 144 votes in favor, while 34 Senators abstained from voting.

Further approvals included Mr. Somsakul Na Bangchang, who is also a Chief Judge of the Administrative Court of First Instance at the Supreme Administrative Court, with 148 votes in favor and 32 abstentions. Mr. Tritoss Nikrothangkoon, Chief Judge of the Chiang Mai Administrative Court, was confirmed with 147 votes in favor and 32 abstentions.

The Senate also approved Mr. Prayoon Preeda, another Chief Judge of the Administrative Court of First Instance at the Supreme Administrative Court, with 150 votes in favor and 31 abstentions. Mr. Phatthana Khusriphitak, Chief Judge of the Ubon Ratchathani Administrative Court, received 149 votes in favor, with 33 abstentions.

Lastly, Mr. Hasdee Sriwichien, Chief Judge of the Phetchaburi Administrative Court, was confirmed with 147 votes in favor and 32 abstentions. The successful appointment of all nine judges signifies a crucial step in strengthening the judicial branch of the Supreme Administrative Court.
