Bangkok: The Senate President, Mr. Mongkol Surasajja, revealed that he was not informed about a request regarding Dr. Kesakamol Pliansamai’s voting rights revocation. The Election Commission (EC) had decided to send the case to the Supreme Court, citing allegations that Dr. Kesakamol deceived others into believing she held a doctorate from California University. Mr. Mongkol stated that he was unaware if the Supreme Court had received the request and emphasized that the incident had not occurred yet.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Mongkol further clarified that he had not been officially informed about the developments and had not discussed the matter with Dr. Kesakamol. He mentioned that he learned about the details from the media, similar to the reporters present.
Mr. Mongkol was also questioned about the potential impact on Dr. Kesakamol’s duties if the Supreme Court accepted the case. He reiterated his lack of knowledge on the matter, stating that the situation was still developing and had not reached a conclusion.
When asked about any concerns regarding an investigation into possible Senate collusion, Mr. Mongkol refrained from commenting, citing the ongoing nature of the situation.
