Bangkok: Senator Dr. Premsak Piayura expressed his frustration during a Senate session, criticizing the Minister of Public Health for failing to respond to urgent interpellation questions. Dr. Premsak sarcastically commented on the minister's absence, questioning whether his meeting with the Prime Minister over noodles the previous night had affected his ability to address the Senate's concerns.
According to Thai News Agency, Dr. Premsak thanked Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Commerce, Ms. Supajee Suthamphan, along with another female minister, for addressing his questions. He highlighted his belief that the current government relies significantly on female ministers to respond to Senate inquiries, noting the absence of other officials. Dr. Premsak specifically mentioned his intention to direct questions to Minister of Public Health, Mr. Pattana Promphat, concerning the advancement of the nursing profession, but was unable to do so.
Dr. Premsak further expressed his intent to follow up on the issue, sharing that nurses nationwide are awaiting a response from the Minister of Public Health regarding solutions for the nursing program. He emphasized his commitment to pursuing the matter if no response is provided by the following week.
