Bangkok: The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) has launched a new book titled “Securities and Exchange Law: Trading, Supervision, and Enforcement” on November 5th. The book aims to provide clear explanations and updates on current securities laws to enhance understanding among all stakeholders involved.
According to Thai News Agency, the SET organized a presentation event called SET Zoom to introduce the book “Explanatory Notes on Securities and Exchange Laws” by Professor Emeritus Kitipong Urapipatanapong, Chairman of SET, alongside Assistant Professor Dr. Phumisiri Damrongwut from Chulalongkorn University, who authored the book.
The SET chairman emphasized the organization’s dual role in educating the public, investors, and media, as well as developing standardized educational materials. He stated that the book is intended to build trust and confidence in the capital market, potentially serving as a university textbook, a resource for investigators in capital market cases, and an informative guide for media professionals. The chairman expressed confidence that the book will provide valuable knowledge for all parties involved over the long term.
Assistant Professor Dr. Phumisiri explained that the book project was initiated to create a comprehensible and timely guide on securities laws for the general public. Recent events in the capital market have impacted investor confidence, highlighting the need for a legal framework that adapts to current economic and social needs. The book aims to transform the perception of law from a limitation to a dynamic tool for building stakeholder confidence. It includes international laws and case studies that Thailand has successfully adapted, enhancing the relevance and applicability of the content.
