Jakarta: Three former prime ministers from the Shinawatra family secretly met with President Subianto to discuss the future of the economy and the global situation. Indonesian Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya posted a photo and message on his Instagram account @sekretariat.kabinet stating that on Thursday, July 9, 2026, President Prabowo Subianto met with three former Thai Prime Ministers: Thaksin Shinawatra (2001-2006), Yingluck Shinawatra (2011-2014), and Paetongtarn Shinawatra (2024-2025) at the Danantara Building in Jakarta.
According to Thai News Agency, the meeting took place in a warm and friendly atmosphere, reflecting the long-standing friendship between the two parties. On this occasion, Mr. Thaksin, currently a member of the advisory board of Danantara (Indonesia's national asset management fund), offered suggestions and exchanged views with President Prabowo and Danantara's management team regarding investment opportunities, asset management strategies, and the country's economic development focused on long-term growth through close interaction with world leaders and key figures.
The Indonesian government continues to strengthen its network of friendships and promote the exchange of ideas and experiences. These efforts aim to expand international cooperation and reinforce Indonesia's position amidst the ever-changing global dynamics.
