Siberian Husky ‘Molly’ Dies After Being Set on Fire, Police Investigate

Songkhla: Sadly, "Molly," the Siberian Husky who was cruelly doused in gasoline and set on fire, has passed away. Police are investigating and urgently searching for the perpetrator.

According to Thai News Agency, an update on the case of "Molly," a 2-year-old Siberian Husky who was cruelly doused in gasoline and set on fire, resulted in severe burns to her back and rear end. Her condition was critical, and she was being treated at the Veterinary Hospital of Prince of Songkla University. Molly had escaped from her home on the night of February 12th in Phawong Subdistrict, Mueang District, Songkhla Province. Following this event, Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn graciously granted royal patronage to "Molly," with her private secretary coordinating with the owner to transfer Molly to Bangkok for further treatment. She was scheduled to arrive in Bangkok today.

Most recently, this morning, Tonlew Yanika, Molly's owner, posted on Facebook the sad news: "RIP. May your beloved daughter rest in heaven. Mom is on her way to pick up her body."

Reporters traveled to the Songkhla Nakarin University Veterinary Hospital and met with Mr. Somchai, 52, the owner of Molly, along with his wife. They revealed that Molly passed away around 6 am this morning after battling injuries for several days. She fought bravely, seemingly waiting to see them. Mr. Somchai and his wife cared for her every day, but she ultimately passed away peacefully due to complications from sepsis and organ failure. After the hospital procedures are complete, they will take Molly to be cremated at Wat Laem Pho in Songkhla city today.

Regarding the case, investigative police from Songkhla Provincial Police and Songkhla City Police Station, along with forensic teams, have urgently gone to the scene to search for clues about the perpetrator. Latest reports indicate that they have found the location likely where the perpetrator poured gasoline and set Molly on fire.
