Bangkok: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sihasak Phuangketkaew, has initiated an investigation following a request from the Chinese Embassy in Thailand regarding an incident involving a Chinese national. The individual was allegedly subjected to excessive force by Thai security guards during their removal from a book fair area. Sihasak emphasized the importance of uncovering the facts surrounding the incident to ensure fairness to all involved parties.

According to Thai News Agency, Sihasak addressed the concerns raised by the Chinese Embassy, stating that while understanding the various reactions from the public, it is crucial to focus on the facts. He noted that many Thai citizens have expressed their opinions on the Chinese Embassy's Facebook page, which might require clarification from the embassy. Sihasak reiterated that any further action, including coordination with the Chinese Embassy, would be contingent on the findings of the ongoing investigation.
