Muscat: Srisaket has arrived in Oman, leading a delegation to thank the Omani Minister of Defence and the Commander-in-Chief of the Navy for rescuing the 20 crew members of the Mayuree Naree crew. He also held discussions with the Omani Minister of Energy regarding future energy reserves for emergencies.
According to Thai News Agency, at 11:50 AM local time in Muscat, Oman, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkaew, and his delegation arrived in Muscat. They were welcomed by Miss Varunee Punkrajang, Thai Ambassador to Muscat, Oman, and the Director-General of the Protocol Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Oman.
At approximately 1:00 PM local time, Mr. Sihasak and his delegation traveled to the Omani Ministry of Defence to hold discussions with the Omani Deputy Prime Minister for Defence Affairs and the Commander-in-Chief of the Omani Navy. The discussions focused on the overall conflict between the United States, Israel, and Iran, which has had widespread global repercussions. Importantly, during this trip to Oman, Mr. Sihasak expressed his gratitude to the Omani government and navy for their coordination and assistance in safely rescuing 20 crew members of the Mayuree Naree cruise ship. Regarding the remaining 3 confirmed to be deceased, arrangements will be made to repatriate their bodies to Thailand as soon as possible.
Simultaneously, discussions on energy were held with Oman's Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, focusing on key issues such as importing additional crude oil and natural gas to address potential future energy shortages.
This evening, local time, the Omani Foreign Minister will host a formal dinner to welcome Mr. Sihasak and his delegation, before tomorrow they will have a formal meeting and discussions at the Omani Foreign Ministry regarding the passage of the Strait of Hormuz.
