Bangkok: "Sihasak" hopes the US and Iran will uphold the ceasefire agreement and restore peace, pointing out that fighting will impact Thailand's energy resources and open up the Strait of Hormuz is delayed.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sihasak Phuangketkaew, commented on the situation in the Strait of Hormuz, where Iran recently retaliated against a US ship, and whether it would affect the global economy. He stated that since both countries recently reached a ceasefire agreement, hoping it would lead to peace, and that warfare has not led to solutions, the world and the international community have hoped that the agreed-upon terms would be followed to end the violence and bring lasting peace. He emphasized the desire to return to normal life and urged everyone to abide by the agreed-upon terms.
According to Thai News Agency, a reporter asked whether there would be no economic impact on Thailand or fuel security. Mr. Sihasak replied that there would definitely be an impact if the situation remained highly uncertain. Energy prices and the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, which is currently in the process, would be affected. If there is fighting, the reopening would be delayed.
