Sirikanya Leads People’s Democratic Party MPs in Songkran Blessing Ceremony for the Elderly

Bangkok: "Sirikanya" led MPs from the People's Democratic Party in pouring water on and seeking blessings from the elderly on Songkran Day, wishing them happiness and good health.

According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Sirikanya Tansakul, Deputy Leader of the People's Party, spearheaded the participation of People's Party MPs, including Mr. Natcha Boonchaiinsawas, Ms. Chalanat Koykul, Mr. Narupol Lertpanyaroj, and Mr. Karunpol Thiansuwan, in a traditional Songkran water-pouring ceremony dedicated to the elderly. The event saw significant involvement from residents of elderly care centers located in Thonburi, Chom Thong, Nong Khaem, Bang Khae, and Bang Khun Thian. Participants also enjoyed a traditional Songkran dance, contributing to a lively and spirited atmosphere.

Ms. Sirikanya expressed heartfelt wishes during the event, stating, "On Songkran Day, may the Triple Gem protect you all, granting you happiness, good health, a good quality of life, and allowing you to stay with us for a long time."

Adding to the festive spirit, Mr. Karunapol extended his greetings for the Thai New Year, saying, "Happy Thai New Year. May everyone have good health, may all your wishes come true, and may you be very happy throughout the year and beyond."

The ceremony included not only the traditional water-pouring ritual but also the distribution of thoughtful gifts to the elderly, such as snacks, electrical appliances, and essential items, further enhancing the joy of the occasion.
