SIRIVANNAVARI Brand Unveils Ceremonial Attire for 2026 Asian Games Thai Athletes

Bangkok: The "SIRIVANNAVARI" brand has revealed the ceremonial uniforms for the Thai military at the 2026 Asian Games, designed under the theme "The Art of Unity." This collection, directed by Her Royal Highness Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya, merges traditional Thai craftsmanship with contemporary design, showcasing Thai identity on an international platform.

According to Thai News Agency, the attire reflects the journey of Thai textiles, incorporating hand-woven indigo-dyed cotton from Sakon Nakhon's "Don Koi Model" and materials from the Foundation for the Promotion of Arts and Crafts. This initiative, led by Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, supports sustainable practices and community empowerment.

The Ban Don Koi fabric is noted for its unique production process, which utilizes local wisdom in preparing cotton threads and dyeing them with natural indigo. The craftsmanship is enhanced through quality upgrades, ensuring the fabric's suitability for modern products. The "Don Koi Model" strengthens communities by preserving traditional knowledge, creating jobs, and promoting Thai fabrics in global markets.

The ceremonial attire includes a suit jacket, shirt, trousers, and tie. The suit jacket features a three-pocket design, with the Thai national team emblem and "THAILAND" embroidered on it. The trousers, made from the same fabric, are tailored for comfort and movement. The white shirt includes a unique collar and embroidered panel depicting a blend of Thai and Japanese cultural symbols.

The attire's design integrates symbolic patterns like Japan's "Seigaiha" wave motif with Thai and Japanese woven patterns, highlighting the craftsmanship of both nations. These elements turn the attire into a narrative medium, showcasing cultural roots and craftsmanship.

The uniforms, worn by Thai athletes, not only represent clothing but also carry the story of Thai craftsmanship and culture to the Asian stage, symbolizing unity and tradition.
