Sisaket: The border area in Sisaket was on the brink of a major incident as Cambodian soldiers disrupted the "Stumbling Flare" event, leading to heightened tensions. Thai soldiers responded by targeting the intruders with lasers, which prompted the Cambodians to fire warning shots. Both sides eventually coordinated to calm the situation.

According to Thai News Agency, the 2nd Army Region shared details on the incident that took place along the Thai-Cambodian border in the Kantaralak District of Sisaket Province. The disturbance began at 8:10 PM when a "flash" activated a flare defensive system at the Thmor Chat operational base, illuminating the surrounding forest. Cambodian soldiers were reportedly moving toward Thai positions at the time. An hour later, a 40mm mortar launcher fired, though the source was unknown, with the impact site located east of the Phu Pha Lek operational base.

A searchlight, appearing similar to a laser pointer, was then directed at the Phu Pha Lek operational base, prompting Thai forces to fire warning shots. The gunfire subsequently stopped, and commanders from both nations worked together to defuse the situation. The suddenness of the incident suggests it might have been due to disciplinary issues among Cambodian soldiers.

Earlier reports from the 2nd Army Region highlighted injuries in the Chong An Ma area following a grass fire near a barbed wire fence at Bon Kai, a spot with a history of clashes and unexploded ordnance. The fire reportedly ignited residual explosives, causing an explosion that injured two Thai soldiers.

The injured soldiers were identified as Sergeant Major Thammarat Klaithip and Private Weerasak Kanharueang. Sergeant Major Klaithip sustained blast trauma, lost consciousness, and suffered shrapnel wounds above his right clavicle, requiring airlift to Sapphasitthiprasong Military Hospital. Private Kanharueang, also rendered unconscious by the blast, was admitted to the same hospital for observation.

Investigations are ongoing to determine the type and size of the explosive device that detonated. Witnesses noted a fire within a bamboo clump near the barbed wire fence moments before the explosion, as they were preparing to extinguish it to prevent it from reaching the operational base.
