Pattani: A six-wheeled truck lost control and crashed into a motorcycle and a car parked on the side of Highway 42, Narathiwat-Pattani, resulting in one immediate death and one serious injury. Police from Pattani City Police Station investigated the incident, which occurred in the Bana Subdistrict of Pattani City District.
According to Thai News Agency, the accident left a trail of destruction, with damage scattered across the scene. Four motorcycles and a sidecar were among the vehicles affected, along with a severely damaged pickup truck and sedan. The six-wheeled truck responsible for the crash was found parked roughly 100 meters away with significant front-end damage. The deceased was identified as 18-year-old Mr. Muhammad Ridwan. Upon discovering their son’s body, his parents collapsed in grief, embracing him and weeping.
In the aftermath of the accident, the truck driver surrendered to the police, attributing the crash to brake failure. However, several local residents claimed the vehicle exhibited no signs of brake failure, instead suggesting that the driver might have fallen asleep at the wheel due to the truck’s swerving motions.
