Samut sakhon: The SME Bank is playing a pivotal role in fostering growth among local businesses in the agricultural processing sector. During a recent visit to Samut Sakhon Province, Dr. Paopum Rojanasakul, Deputy Minister of Finance, highlighted the success of Tawanthip Food Products Co., Ltd. and K-Fresh Co., Ltd., two SMEs benefiting from the bank’s loan guarantee program.

According to Thai News Agency, both companies are part of the agricultural processing sector, a key industry identified by the government for its potential to add value to agricultural products and generate sustainable income for farmers. This sector also offers solutions to stabilize produce prices and provides avenues for international market expansion.

Tawanthip Food Products Co., Ltd., based in Krathum Baen District, is renowned for its “Tawanthip” soy sauce, made from organic soybeans. Notably, it is the first Thai soy sauce brand to receive the SUPERIOR TASTE AWARD 2023 from Belgium. The company’s production process combines traditional fermentation methods using Ratchaburi dragon jars with modern technology to create a unique product.

Meanwhile, K-Fresh Co., Ltd., located in Ban Phaeo District, is a leading producer and exporter of fragrant coconuts. The company has introduced the “Coco Thumb,” a ready-to-drink coconut beverage that simplifies the consumption process. Through its “All Coco” brand, the company has expanded its offerings and established “Coco Village,” an agricultural tourism destination aimed at promoting Thai fragrant coconuts globally.

Both companies have capitalized on the SME Bank’s loan guarantee program, which provides low-cost liquidity and enables business expansion. The entrepreneurs behind these businesses have expressed a keen interest in continued government support through credit assistance and loan guarantees to sustain their growth trajectory.
