Bangkok: SME D Bank has teamed up with the Revenue Department and the Thai Credit Guarantee Corporation (TCGC) to help small and medium enterprises (SMEs) embrace digitalization.
According to Thai News Agency, the collaboration aims to support SMEs through a comprehensive campaign that includes financial literacy training, e-commerce market expansion, and access to low-interest funding. The initiative, which will run from February to July, offers ten sessions across ten provinces in Thailand, all free of charge.
Mr. Pichit Mitrawong, Managing Director of the Small and Medium Enterprise Development Bank of Thailand (SME D Bank), announced the launch of the project titled "Capital Available, Tax Knowledge Acquired: Stepping into E-Commerce." This initiative is designed to bolster SME entrepreneurs' business capabilities in the digital era by providing crucial financial management knowledge, efficient tax regulation utilization, cost reduction strategies, and pathways into the thriving e-commerce sector. A key feature of the program is the provision of low-interest funding from SME D Bank, enabling businesses to achieve their growth objectives.
The project is structured as a ONE-Stop Service, offering a wide array of services in one location. Participants can benefit from workshops on business administration, including creating short videos, brand building, and enhancing sales through artificial intelligence (AI). The program also covers financial planning and quality accounting services. Tax-related topics, such as e-filing tax returns and online VAT registration, are included to help businesses optimize their tax benefits. Additionally, special interest rate loans at 3% per year, fixed for the first three years, with repayment terms up to 10 years, are available through SME D Bank. Notable loan options include the "SME Empowerment Loan" and the "SME Green Productivity Loan," which offer maximum loan amounts of 1 million baht and 30 million baht, respectively. The Thai Credit Guarantee Corporation (TCGC) further supports funding access without collateral.
Participants are also given the exclusive opportunity to use a digital accounting system valued at over 20,000 baht for free for three months. The sessions feature booths providing business consulting services and advice on potential business expansion properties.
The "Funding and Tax Understanding: Stepping into E-Commerce" project will be conducted 10 times across 10 provinces from February to July 2026. The schedule includes sessions in Udon Thani, Khon Kaen, Yasothon, Nakhon Ratchasima, Phang Nga, Krabi, Phayao, Phrae, Nakhon Nayok, and Samut Prakan. The initiative anticipates the participation of at least 800 SME entrepreneurs in Samut Prakan province alone.
