Bangkok: The final day of the Songkran festival on Khao San Road witnessed a lively atmosphere as tourists of all ages gathered to enjoy the water festivities. The event, which allowed participants to play in the water until 10 pm, drew a large crowd despite the cloudy sky and occasional light rain.

According to Thai News Agency, both Thai and foreign tourists flocked to the area, armed with water guns to partake in the Songkran celebrations. Security measures were in place, requiring all tourists to pass through one of four screening checkpoints around Khao San Road, with the main checkpoint located in front of Chana Songkhram Police Station. The city of Bangkok enhanced security by installing CCTV cameras and an AI system to monitor tourists, which was met with cooperation from attendees.

Mr. Kosol Singhanat, Director of Phra Nakhon District, conducted an inspection of the area and anticipated that more than 100,000 tourists would visit due to the closure of Silom Road for Songkran the previous day. He reminded participants to adhere to guidelines such as refraining from overly revealing clothing, avoiding the use of powder, and not using high-pressure water guns to ensure the festival remains an attractive event for both locals and tourists.

During the Songkran festival on Khao San Road, minor accidents were reported involving approximately 22 individuals. Additionally, authorities confiscated a bag of flour to maintain safety and order during the celebrations.
