Bangkok: The final day of the Songkran Festival on Khao San Road is expected to draw a crowd exceeding 150,000 people, with more than 600 police officers deployed to ensure safety and orderliness for tourists.

According to Thai News Agency, the morning atmosphere on Khao San Road was subdued as many foreign tourists were still resting after festivities continued until 1 am the previous night. Meanwhile, local Thai residents are anticipated to join the celebrations in the afternoon and evening to escape the heat. Authorities have set up screening points for people and tourists to engage in water play between 12:00 pm and 10:00 pm.

Chanasongkram Police Station has organized over 600 officers to oversee the safety and order of both locals and tourists. These officers are divided into two shifts, with 300 officers working each shift. For tourists heading to Khao San Road, there are four screening points: one on the Bang Lamphu side, another on the Wat Bowon side, a third on Chakkraphong Road, and the final one on the Khao San Road side. Prohibited items include all types of weapons, box cutters, scissors, chalk powder, high-pressure water guns, and other potentially dangerous items.
