A southern rapid train derailed this morning shortly after it left Hat Yai railway station on its way to Sungai Kolok station.
The train No 175 from Hat Yai to Sungai Kolok departed Hat Yai at 6.30 am with 200 passengers.
But 10 minutes after leaving, the locomotive of the train derailed while it was near Namoung station.
No passengers were injured from the train derailment.
Hat Yai railway station late today sent another train to lift and tow it back, which will take several hours to finish.
The station later took all passengers back to Hat Yai and said they can either refund their tickets to travel by bus or wait for another train to continue their journey to Sungai Kolok.
