Bangkok: The State Railway of Thailand (SRT) has announced significant changes to train operations on the Southern Railway Line due to escalating flood conditions. Water levels continue to rise, prompting the SRT to adjust the origin and destination stations of certain trains and cancel 16 local trains starting November 24, 2025, until conditions improve.
According to Thai News Agency, the SRT reported ongoing flooding along the railway tracks in the lower southern region, with water levels still climbing and expanding across various areas. This situation has hindered inspections of previously damaged tracks. To prioritize passenger safety, the SRT has restructured routes for four trains and suspended 12 train services on the Southern Line.
The specific adjustments include changing the routes of local trains No. 447/448 and No. 445/446. Meanwhile, cancellations affect local trains such as No. 451/452, No. 453/454, and special express trains No. 947/948, among others. Officials are closely monitoring the water situation and rainfall, with civil engineering departments and station masters tasked to assess and respond appropriately while implementing safety measures.
The SRT is prepared to expedite road repairs and improvements to restore normal train services swiftly as water levels decrease. Passengers are advised to verify train schedules through SRT’s public relations channels and can access real-time updates online or via the 24-hour Customer Service Center.
The SRT extends apologies for any inconvenience caused by the ongoing flood situation and remains focused on ensuring passenger safety with minimal disruption.
