Bangkok:The State Railway of Thailand (SRT) has announced temporary alterations to train routes leading to and from Bangkok Central Station. These changes are scheduled to take place from October 25 to 29, 2026.
According to Thai News Agency, this adjustment is in preparation for the upcoming opening ceremony of the "Bangkok Central Station Apiwat." The event will mark the introduction of the light red line suburban railway "Nakhon Vithi" and the dark red line suburban railway "Thani Ratthaya," set to occur on October 29, 2026, at the station.
To facilitate this, the SRT will temporarily modify access to Gates 1 and 2. Gate 1 will be closed from October 25 to 29, while Gate 2 will be shut on October 29. However, other gates will remain operational. On the day of the ceremony, changes will also affect access to the underground parking area for long-distance train and metro users, who will need to use the tunnel near Gate 5 to park in designated zones.
Passengers using public transport can continue to alight at gates 3 and 4. The SRT advises travelers to allow extra time for their journeys to avoid delays. To assist passengers during this period, SRT staff will be stationed at various points to provide guidance and support. The SRT has expressed apologies for any inconvenience these changes may cause.
