Bangkok: Strong winds toppled a Bangkok gubernatorial campaign sign, crushing a motorcycle in the Huai Khwang area and injuring one person.
According to Thai News Agency, the incident unfolded as the election campaign season began. Strong winds in Bangkok caused several campaign posters for gubernatorial candidates, positioned along a road in the Huai Khwang area, to collapse onto a motorcyclist's vehicle. The unexpected event resulted in multiple injuries.
Eyewitnesses reported that unusually strong gusts of wind in the morning caused the large campaign signs to fall simultaneously. The victim, a woman riding her motorcycle at the time, was struck by the falling signs, leading her to lose control and fall. She suffered abrasions and bruises and was immediately rushed to Ladprao Hospital. Fortunately, her condition is stable.
This incident has triggered widespread criticism among the residents in the Huai Khwang area. Many are demanding that the candidates' teams and relevant authorities inspect the structural integrity of the campaign signs, particularly during the rainy season when strong winds are common, to prevent similar accidents from occurring to other unsuspecting individuals.
