Nonthaburi: A student gunman opened fire at a prominent school in Thailand's central province of Nonthaburi, killing at least two teachers and wounding 15 other people, local authorities and police said. The suspect, identified as a student at the school, remained in hiding inside a school building, with sporadic gunfire heard from the premises as armed police officers cordoned off the area, according to officials.

According to Thai News Agency, police tactical teams arrived at the scene shortly after reports of the shooting emerged and were actively evacuating students and staff while conducting a search to locate and apprehend the suspect. Authorities have urged members of the public and bystanders to refrain from livestreaming video footage of the incident or tactical deployments on social media, citing severe security risks to officers and civilians trapped inside.

The motive behind the attack was not immediately clear, and emergency personnel were working to transport the injured to nearby medical facilities.
