Student Loan Fund Announces July 5th as First Repayment Due Date for Graduates

Bangkok: The Student Loan Fund (SLF) has issued a reminder to borrowers that the first installment for loan repayment is due on July 5th. This reminder is specifically aimed at those who have recently graduated and completed the mandatory two-year grace period.

According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Anchalee Phuriwitwattana, who is serving as both the Deputy Manager and Acting Manager of the Student Loan Fund, emphasized the importance of making timely repayments. She pointed out that July 5th of each year is the official repayment due date and that borrowers should have already received their first debt notification letters. Graduates are encouraged to prepare for their initial repayment by July 5, 2026, to ensure the continuation of educational opportunities for future students.

The SLF has streamlined the repayment process by allowing borrowers to check their repayment amounts using the Student Loan Fund Connect application. Additionally, borrowers can generate a QR code to facilitate fee-free payments via mobile banking from any bank. The fund also allows for payments exceeding the annual required amount, following a reducing balance method. This approach means that as the principal amount decreases, so does the interest, thereby enabling borrowers to clear their debts more swiftly.

The Student Loan Fund calls on all alumni to adhere to the repayment schedule, which will help maintain a healthy revolving fund. This fund is crucial for extending educational assistance to younger students who are still in need of financial support.
