Successful Passage of SCG Ship Through Hormuz Highlights Government’s Efficiency and Sihasak’s Diplomacy

Bangkok: Academics point out that the successful passage of the SCG ship through Hormuz reflects the government's efficiency and praise Sihasak.

According to Thai News Agency, the safe passage of a ship belonging to Siam Cement Public Company Limited (SCG) through the Strait of Hormuz has been hailed as an indicator of the government's efficiency in handling international crises. This accomplishment underscores the proactive diplomatic strategies pursued by Prime Minister Sihasak, as highlighted by academics.

Associate Professor Olar Thinbangtiao from the Faculty of Political Science at Burapha University emphasized that this development was not just "good news" for the situation but a testament to the "efficiency of the state" in managing complex global geopolitical tensions. The Strait of Hormuz is a critical artery in the global energy system, and the successful navigation through it during such a tumultuous period marks a significant achievement.

The role of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sihasak Phuangketkaew, was crucial in this success. His proactive diplomatic policy, demonstrated through an official visit to Oman, utilized bilateral relations to coordinate effectively with Iran, resolving the situation in this high-risk area.

This strategic approach underscores the potential of Thai diplomacy to move beyond mere formalities or symbolic gestures, producing tangible results that enhance national security. These efforts have directly impacted dimensions of energy security and international trade, showcasing a pragmatic application of diplomatic relations.
