Suksomruay Not Yet Contacted for New Cabinet Role

Bangkok: "Suksomruay" has not yet been approached to join the new cabinet, as revealed by Suksomruay herself. She anticipates that the situation will become clearer during the upcoming Bhumjaithai Party seminar in Buriram. Suksomruay expressed her readiness to take on a ministerial position if assigned by the party leaders. In the meantime, the Election Commission has commenced the second day of registration for newly elected MPs, with candidates arriving since morning.

According to Thai News Agency, the certificate distribution for MPs to report to the Parliament building continued smoothly, with MPs arriving steadily. Mr. Nikorn Somklang, MP for Nakhon Ratchasima Constituency 8 from the Pheu Thai Party, was the first to receive his certificate. He mentioned his intentions to report to the House of Representatives alongside other Pheu Thai MPs. Mr. Narong Rakroi, a member of the Election Commission, briefly inspected the certificate distribution area before returning to his office.

Ms. Suksomruay Wantaniyakul, an MP for Amnat Charoen from the Bhumjaithai Party, collected her documents and gave an interview after being included in the cabinet list. She clarified that she learned about her potential appointment through media reports and confirmed that no formal approach had been made. Suksomruay stated she attended to receive her official certification in preparation for reporting to the party on March 6th.

When questioned about potential ministerial roles, Ms. Suksamruay candidly stated she hadn't given it much thought, having only discovered the news the previous day. She humorously suggested that reporters might choose a position for her but maintained she had not made any decisions.

In response to inquiries about being approached by Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul or Mr. Newin Chidchob, Ms. Suksomruay confirmed that neither had contacted her. She added that discussions with the Prime Minister had not yet occurred, anticipating more clarity at the party seminar in Buriram.

Regarding expectations from her constituents, Ms. Suksamruay noted that voters hoped Bhumjaithai Party MPs would join the cabinet. While uncertain about her preferred ministerial area, she expressed confidence in her capabilities if given a role by senior party members. She reiterated her surprise upon learning the news from the media, questioning reporters about their source.

Reporters indicated that on the first day of certificate distribution at the Election Commission, 141 MPs received their certificates. These included representatives from various parties, with Bhumjaithai Party leading with 61 MPs, followed by Pheu Thai Party with 43, and others.

As for the People's Party, no MPs have collected their certification letters yet. Reports suggest they will wait for the Election Commission to certify all list-based MPs before collecting certificates and reporting to Parliament collectively.
