Bangkok: Exceeding expectations, Supajee has closed a significant deal with Otis McAllister, Inc., a major US importer, resulting in an immediate order valued at 378.6 million baht.
According to Thai News Agency, this success stems from the Exclusive Incoming Mission project, which invited Otis McAllister to engage in business matching with Thai food entrepreneurs.
Ms. Supachie Suthamphan, Minister of Commerce, outlined the project's achievements at the Ministry of Commerce. The initiative aligns with the Ministry's Quick Big Win policy to expand exports and capture market share in the US. The project aims to offer opportunities for high-potential Thai products, particularly agricultural and food items, which the US needs to import due to insufficient domestic production. The business matching with six companies led to immediate orders worth US$12.2 million (approximately 378.6 million baht), with projected orders for the year reaching US$123.8 million (approximately 3,837.8 million baht). Products ordered include canned sardines, with interest also shown in canned tuna, jasmine rice, and chili oil, among other items.
The Otis management team's visit to Thailand also provided an opportunity to discuss the impact of recent US tariffs and gather insights on importing Thai goods into the US market. Ms. Sunanta Kangvalkulkit, Director-General of the Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP), noted that the project originated from Ms. Supajee's visit to Los Angeles in November 2025, where she met with Mr. Royce A. Nicolaisen, CEO of Otis McAllister. Following this meeting, Mr. Nicolaisen was invited to Thailand to participate in the Exclusive Incoming Mission, resulting in the successful trade negotiations.
Otis McAllister, Inc. is a prominent importer and intermediary, trading goods globally. The company imports various products for the US market, including grains and canned seafood, from countries such as Thailand, Vietnam, and Peru.
