Udon thani: The Consumer Protection Board (CPB) raided beauty clinics in downtown Udon Thani and, shockingly, found that more than half were operating illegally and lacked standard contracts. Ms. Supamas Isarabhakdi, Minister attached to the Prime Minister's Office, in her capacity as supervisor of the Consumer Protection Board (CPB), led a team to conduct a surprise inspection of cosmetic clinics in a prominent shopping mall in Udon Thani city. This action aims to protect consumers from exploitation following a significant increase in complaints received by the CPB across the country.

According to Thai News Agency, the inspection covered licenses, contracts, and treatment rooms. Of the 21 clinics inspected in Udon Thani province, 12 were found to be in violation of the law. Most lacked a "standard contract" for clients, which includes crucial details such as the client's name, doctor's details, costs, payment terms, and contract termination conditions. The Minister emphasized the importance of all clinics strictly adhering to the law, clearly specifying doctor details, costs, and contract termination terms. If citizens feel they have been treated unfairly, they can file complaints with the provincial public health offices nationwide, which will provide a one-stop service for immediate problem resolution.
