Bangkok: “Suphamas” has inaugurated a new Food Hall at the heart of the Pak Khlong Talat Flower Market, aiming to establish it as a prominent landmark for tourism and community economic growth. The opening event was led by Ms. Supamas Isaraphakdi, Minister to the Prime Minister’s Office, who introduced the market’s mascot, NONG NAN, to further promote the local economy and tourism.

According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Supamas highlighted the significance of the Thonburi Flower Market, which hosts over 1,500 stalls featuring a wide range of domestic and imported flowers. This development is seen as a crucial step towards elevating the Thai market to an international standard, embracing a “One Stop Shop” concept that integrates trade, services, and income-generation opportunities for farmers and the public. The Food Hall, comprising over 200 renowned restaurants, is expected to attract visitors and invigorate the local economy.

Ms. Supamas also encouraged business owners to participate in the “Half-Half” program and urged the public to support Thai enterprises to ensure their stability. She called for collaboration across sectors to drive sustainable growth in the grassroots economy.

Furthermore, Ms. Supamas reiterated the government’s dedication to fostering the local economy and creating a platform that connects the flower and food trade, reflecting a unique Thai identity. She commended the market management’s efforts in transforming the “Food Hall” into a clean and modern space that appeals to both Thai and international tourists.
