Supreme Patriarch of Thailand to Extend Recovery Period Due to Health Concerns

Bangkok: The Supreme Patriarch will take another two months off from his official duties to recover his health. The Office of the Secretary to the Supreme Patriarch announced that His Holiness the Supreme Patriarch will be taking a break from his official duties for another two months, except for essential ones, in order to recover from back pain.

According to Thai News Agency, His Holiness Somdej Phra Ariyavongsakatanayana, the Supreme Patriarch of Thailand, experienced pain in his back while performing his royal duties. The medical team provided care until his condition improved, and His Holiness requested permission to temporarily refrain from royal duties.

As His Majesty is currently 99 years old, the medical team attending to him respectfully requests that he refrain from performing royal duties for another two months. During this time, he will not be making public appearances to receive homage, except for essential royal engagements. The medical team will assess each case individually during this period to allow for His Majesty's recovery and to avoid prolonged periods of inactivity until his condition normalizes.

Furthermore, the matter has been brought to His Majesty the King's attention, and His Holiness the Supreme Patriarch has given his approval. He has also expressed his appreciation for the concern shown by the faithful towards him and has graciously bestowed his blessings in return for this gesture of goodwill.
