Bangkok: TAT joins forces with partners to welcome tourists and promote the “Trusted Thailand” symbol to enhance travel confidence. Mr. Atthakorn Sirilathayakorn, Minister of Tourism and Sports, Mr. Yang Xiaolong, Cultural Counselor, Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Thailand, and Ms. Thapanee Kiatphaibool, Governor of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), jointly presided over the ceremony to present the “Trusted Thailand” symbol to participating establishments, certifying their safety standards and building travel confidence among tourists worldwide.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Atthakorn stated that in the first 10 months of 2025, Thailand welcomed approximately 26.7 million international tourists, including 3.7 million Chinese tourists, representing approximately 15% of the total. Therefore, the government has continuously implemented measures to build confidence in tourists traveling in all aspects, including raising the standards of tourist attractions, coordinating with security agencies, communicating accurate information, and facilitating tourists. The “Trusted Thailand” project, implemented by the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), aims to bolster tourists’ confidence in choosing establishments, hotels, restaurants, and attractions through the Trusted Thailand logo, a symbol of confidence in the safety of tourists, encouraging them to return to Thailand, particularly among Chinese tourists during the end of the year.
Ms. Thapanee stated that over the past year, news reports have significantly impacted the image of Thai tourism, particularly among Chinese tourists. This has led to a tendency for tourists to consider destinations with stricter safety measures. The “Trusted Thailand” project is another collaboration between the public and private sectors with the shared goal of restoring confidence in safe travel in Thailand. She believes this will help restore confidence in Chinese tourists, leading to a return to growth.
This time, the selected symbols will be distributed to four types of establishments: hotels and accommodations, restaurants and food stalls, recreation and tourist attractions, and department stores and shopping centers, which have been assessed based on safety quality criteria, 235 establishments.
The TAT aims to have at least 5,000 businesses pass the assessment. Those who achieve this certification will receive benefits from TAT partners, such as being listed on the Trip.com platform and promoting the TAT’s various online and offline channels.
