Bangkok: "Authorities have arrested a teacher at a renowned school in Nakhon Pathom for sexually abusing more than 20 children over a period of more than 10 years. The operation was announced by Pol. Gen. Thatchai Pitanilabutr, Deputy Commissioner-General of the Royal Thai Police and Director of the Anti-Human Trafficking Center, as part of efforts to combat child sexual abuse and human trafficking.
According to Thai News Agency, the press conference detailing the arrest was held at the Provincial Police Region 7 headquarters. This operation is in line with Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul's initiative to prevent and suppress human trafficking, particularly against children and youth. The Royal Thai Police, led by Pol. Gen. Kittirat Panpetch, is actively working to address this issue.
The case involves a teacher with a doctoral degree who used his position to exploit over 20 children at a prestigious school. The suspect was apprehended at his residence in Mueang Nakhon Pathom district. The investigation began when the parents of a boy under 15 filed a complaint, leading to the discovery of multiple victims. The teacher allegedly filmed the abuse and used the recordings to threaten the children into silence.
Investigators worked with a multidisciplinary team and the Internet Child Abuse Combat Unit (TICAC) to gather evidence and arrest the suspect. The operation uncovered numerous videos of the abuse, revealing a pattern of manipulation and coercion by the teacher, who used his trusted position to facilitate the crime.
The Royal Thai Police has emphasized its commitment to maintaining confidentiality for victims and their families, assuring that reporting such crimes will not result in negative social impact.
